A crypto payment gateway can generate deposit addresses, detect transfers, screen wallets, convert assets, and settle the merchant in crypto, stablecoins, or fiat. Those functions do not automatically include custody, exchange, acquiring, player KYC, or permission to serve gambling operators. The legal and technical roles have to be checked separately.

The comparison focuses on the contracting entity, regulatory status, custody and key control, supported networks, confirmation and reorg handling, screening, travel-rule or transfer controls where applicable, conversion, settlement, refunds, reconciliation, and access to transaction data. Coin counts and instant-settlement claims remain vendor-reported unless independently supported.

Does accepting crypto remove the need for a gambling license?+
No. The payment rail does not change gambling law, player-protection duties, sanctions controls, AML obligations, tax, or the rules of target markets. The operator and payment provider must both accept the intended activity and jurisdictions.
Who controls the crypto wallet and private keys?+
It depends on the product. The provider may use omnibus custody, merchant-controlled wallets, generated addresses, or an external custodian. Confirm ownership, signing authority, segregation, recovery, insolvency treatment, withdrawals, and whether balances can be moved without the provider.
How should settlement be compared?+

A label such as instant can refer to UI credit rather than final blockchain or bank settlement.
What is the main integration test?+

What happens if the crypto provider freezes or fails?+
The operator needs read-only access and exports for addresses, transactions, balances, screening decisions, conversions, settlements, and pending cases; a way to stop new deposits; and a reconciled path for merchant funds and player withdrawals. Key ownership, wallet portability, insolvency status, notice, support, and final deletion should be fixed before launch.
